Lake Pleasant

Sunday we took our boat out to Lake Pleasant. Tony has been fishing there many times, but we hadn't ever taken a family boating trip to that lake yet. It was an amazingly beautiful day, and the desert is so green from all our spring rain this year. We had a Subway picnic lunch (our tradition), Tony and the girls did some fishing (but didn't catch anything), we continued a tradition of getting ice cream at the lake's marina (started by our friends, the Kachevases), and just cruised around the lake. The water was much too cold to swim, but we did enjoy sitting on the bow and dangling our feet in. Megan and Emily were getting so daring that we were very surprised that they didn't fall in as they splashed their feet.

It was a bittersweet trip as we had a wonderful day, but we are also realizing that we may need to sell our boat to pay for our adoption. We are completely prepared to do that, and cannot wait for the day that we bring our baby home, but it's hard not be a little sad at the same time. We are so thankful for the many experiences we have had with our boat this year, and look at those as great blessings. We also are looking at this coming season in our lives with another baby in our home, and a baby/toddler on a boat just doesn't sound like the best combination for a fun and relaxing day. So, hopefully someday we will be able to have a boat again, but for now, we are look at wrapping up this wonderful chapter of our life.
